What this calculator follows
This page keeps the 8th National Pay Scale, 2015 numbers (Grade 1 fixed ৳78,000). The live gazette from 1 July 2026 is the 9th scale — use the 2026 payscale calculator for that. Grade 1 here is a fixed basic (৳78,000). Grades 2–20 have a starting basic, a percentage increment, and a ceiling.
Annual increment in the gazette is about 5% for grades 6–20, 4.5% for grade 5, 4% for grades 3–4 and 3.75% for grade 2. This tool compounds that percentage each year and stops at the published maximum. Real offices sometimes round a little differently after fixation memos — treat the result as an estimate.
House rent here uses the common field rates: 50% in Dhaka City Corporation, 45% in other city corporations, 40% elsewhere. Medical is ৳1,500 a month (৳2,500 if you tick 65+). Education allowance is ৳500 per child, two children maximum. Festival money is counted as two basics a year, and Pohela Boishakh as 20% of basic, because those are the 2015 extras most clerks still quote.
