Government extras vs private bonus
On the 2015 national pay scale, Muslim employees typically draw two festival allowances equal to basic pay (the two Eids). Non-Muslim employees receive equivalent festival payments under the same framework. The 2015 gazette also created a Bengali New Year allowance of 20% of basic.
Private factories under the Labour Act generally pay two festival bonuses a year after one year of service, but the amount is a matter of contract, gazette minimum wage for that industry, or a settlement — not automatically one full basic. Enter whatever basic or “bonus-able wage” your HR uses.
৳16,000 basic, two Eids + Noboborsho
Each festival = ৳16,000 × 2 = ৳32,000. Pohela Boishakh 20% = ৳3,200. Yearly extras ৳35,200 before any extra one-off you type in. On the 2026 scale the same rule still uses whatever basic you actually draw that month — get the step from payscale 2026 first.
When this does not apply
Private factories under the Labour Act after one year usually get two festivals, but the amount is contract or industry gazette — not automatically one full basic. Contractors, daily labour and NGO “consolidated” pay need HR’s written rate. This is not gratuity; that is Labour Act gratuity.
